In need of a lick of paint, this boat winch quietly rests, preparing for the spring rush of boats and yachts, each needing to be laden with heavy equipment and stores for their maiden voyages of the new year.

The winch chain has been gathering a slight layer of surface rust and the paint of the windlass has ben gently flaking, ever since its work was done in helping overwintering vessels unload, ready to be taken out of the water for dry-dock and maintenance work.
