A photo of ammonite fossils in rocks exposed at low tide at Lyme Regis. On the beach ammonites and other fossils abound - if you know where to look. Although you can find fossils in the fresh mud falls and slides, ninety nine times out of a hundred, the fossils are in the soft mud and they just fall apart in your hands. Instead, look amongst the rocks on the beach (the crumbly stuff gets washed away on the beach, leaving the better finds behind). The sea is also good at exposing the fossils in the rocks, so don't forget to look there at low tide. find similar photos...
