Canalside Sail Structures

Oracle Mall, Reading

Curved red-light tipped structures overhanging the public space at the side of the Kennet and Avon Canal where it flows through the Oracle Shopping Mall, Reading. A nightime shot with the whole area lit by the lights of the shops, restaraunts and the car park - with blue step lights and white rope lights.

During inclement weather, canvas curved 'sails' are stretched between the curved spines, like giant umbrellas giving shelter from rain.
