The Cape Sundew is an insectivorous plant and attracts its prey with sweet-smelling droplets at the end of hair-like filaments. This honeydew is also very sticky and the lightest brush by a small insect will result in it getting stuck - and the more it struggles, the more it gets covered in the sticky goo. An insect stands no chance, because as soon as the plant detects the movement, it automatically curls its stem around the insect, its next meal.
